Mclusky @ Brudenell Social Club, Sunday 21st July
Post-hardcore heroes Mclusky were authors of three cult classic albums of dynamic, thunderous alternative rock, which never took itself anywhere near seriously and was all the more joyous for it, putting them streets ahead of almost all their competitors in the early Noughties. They now return for a victory lap of sorts around the UK, which calls in at Leeds’ Brudenell Social Club on Sunday night. You might also remember two-thirds of the band as members of the equally brilliant Future Of The Left, who were in operation after Mclusky’s demise. (TICKETS)
Easy Star All-Stars playing ‘Dub Side Of The Moon’ @ Brudenell Social Club, Tuesday 23rd July
Released in 2003, Dub Side Of The Moon became a minor word-of-mouth success as a dub reggae tribute to Pink Floyd’s legendary 1973 album. The band, the brainchild of the leaders of New York label Easy Star Records, has since conceived of similar projects interpreting Radiohead, The Beatles and Michael Jackson albums, but their take on Floyd is remembered fondest, and they come to replicate it live at the Brudenell on Tuesday evening. (TICKETS)
Uniform & Bad Breeding @ Temple Of Boom, Tuesday 23rd July
If dub versions of ‘70s rockers isn’t your thing, this transatlantic co-headline tour of New York post-hardcore band Uniform and home-grown act Bad Breeding might take your fancy. With the American act touring their latest album The Long Walkand the Stevenage band hot off the back of their third album Exiled, this is a great double-header. (TICKETS)
Cowtown @ Wharf Chambers, Thursday 25th July
