Another week, another fantastic week of live music in the fair city of Leeds! Because there’s simply so much great stuff on around the city, this week’s feature is expanded from three to five gigs!
Here are the best live acts in Leeds from Saturday 28th October through to Friday 3rd November!
Bicep @ Canal Mills, Saturday October 28th
Northern Irish duo Bicep, consisting of electronica producers Andy Ferguson and Matt McBriar, have given British dance a shot in the arm in 2017. Their self-titled album has been selling well, with recent single ‘Glue’ tearing up BBC Radio 6Music over the last couple of months. The spacious warehouse environs of Canal Mills should provide the ideal live context for this exciting act!

Ghostpoet @ Brudenell Social Club, Monday October 30th
Obaro Ijimiwe’s fourth Ghostpoet album Dark Days + Canapes has taken the temperature of post-Brexit Britain perfectly with the singer’s moody mixture of atmospheric indie and jazzy arrangements. The two-time Mercury Prize nominee is coming to grace the intimate Brudenell Social Club on Monday night, and it should be a memorable evening just before Halloween!

Girl Ray @ Headrow House, Monday October 30th
If Ghostpoet doesn’t take your fancy, try the critically acclaimed Girl Ray who are solidifying a great 2017 with an extensive UK tour. Dealing in beautiful, lo-fi heartache indie pitched that defines the word ‘bittersweet’, their debut album Earl Grey is a total triumph.

Goldfrapp @ Leeds O2 Academy, Wednesday November 1st
A shapeshifting veteran of the pop scene whose career stretches back to the mid-‘90s, Alison Goldfrapp is bringing her recently released album Silver Eye to the O2 Academy. The new album’s smooth, mature but sharply detailed electro-pop should sit beautifully alongside Goldfrapp’s small arsenal of past chart smashes.

If it’s brand new artists you’re interested in, then get down to the Brudenell Social Club’s even newer Community Room for cheap beers and enjoy Leeds’ up-and-coming art-rockers The Golden Age Of TV, one of our favourite new bands of 2017.
