Showcasing the Best New Music, Curating the Classics

PREVIEW: Gigs of the Week in Leeds, August 31st-September 6th

Kaputt @ Wharf Chambers, Sunday 1st September

A six-piece post-punk act from Glasgow who first gained attention at the back end of 2017 with their debut EP Demo, Kaputt are now preparing the release of their first studio album within the next month. To stoke the anticipation, their short British tour calls in at Leeds on Sunday night at Wharf Chambers. (TICKETS)

Edwyn Collins @ Brudenell Social Club, Thursday 5th September

Having recently turned 60 and off the back of a brand new studio album Badbea, the legendary Edwyn Collins – formerly of post-punk group Orange Juice and a solo artist for over three decades – calls in at the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds on Thursday evening. Having taught himself to speak and play guitar again since his life-threatening stroke in 2005, Collins’ story is an inspiration, and this is an opportunity to see a true indie icon in the flesh. (TICKETS)

Föllakzoid @ Brudenell Social Club, Friday 6th September

A neo-psychedelic outfit from Chile dealing in huge, lysergically enhanced structures and hypnotic, repetitive percussion, Föllakzoid bring their fourth studio album (confusingly titled I…) to life at the Brudenell Social Club on Friday night. (TICKETS)
