PREVIEW: Gigs of the Week in Leeds, 29th September-5th October

The Night Café @ The Wardrobe, Monday 1st October

The Night Café are a young band from Liverpool with a lot of hunger to make it big on the rock music scene. Often compared to Circa Waves, The Night Café make lively, loud and infectious music that has already gained them a lot of following. Their debut EP, Get Away From The Feeling, came out in 2017 and was followed by their latest short release, Bunkbed, which dropped earlier this year. The band is known for having a youthful spirit and a lot of ideas that they still haven’t put into practice, but will surely do in the near future. The Night Café are playing at The Wardrobe this Monday, so make sure to grab your tickets soon!

Kylie Minogue @ First Direct Arena, Thursday 4th October

Kylie Minogue’s career has been full of ups and downs, yet the Australian pop-star has made it clear that no obstacles can stop her from making music and performing in front of her fans. This year, Minogue released her 14th studio album, Golden, which was heavily influenced by dance and country music and was well received by the critics, who praised Minogue for her songwriting skills. Some of Kylie’s biggest hits to date include ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’ and ‘Where The Wild Roses Grow’, a stunning collaboration with Nick Cave. Whether you are a long time fan or someone who’s just getting to know Kylie Minogue’s music, you do not want to miss her concert at the First Direct Arena this week.

Drinks @ The Brudenell Social Club, Friday 5th October

Drinks is a collaboration between Welsh singer-songwriter Cate LeBon and Tim Presley of White Fence, and briefly, The Fall. The duo released their second LP, Hippo Lite, in April this year, which was experimental and deeply psychedelic at certain moments. The music of Drinks can be fun and challenging at the same time, bringing an interesting vibe to psychedelic rock. They are also one of the most unconventional musical projects on the scene right now, and one that should not be missed playing live.
