Showcasing the Best New Music, Curating the Classics

PREVIEW: Gigs of the Week in Leeds, 5th-11th October

Teen @ Oporto, Sunday 6th October

With four albums of quality R&B-inflected indie under their belts, including the excellent Good Fruit released back in March, it was surprising to hear a couple of months back that the Lieberson sisters are calling time on their band Teen. They’re finishing up their touring commitments before they do so, however, so take this last chance to see this sadly short-lived group in action! (TICKETS)

Far Caspian @ Hyde Park Book Club, Thursday 10th October

Having released another new EP titled The Heights earlier this year, expanding their brand of hazy, bedroom-bound indie-rock further than ever before, Leeds trio Far Caspian play a home-town gig at the Hyde Park Book Club this week. (TICKETS)

Fudge. @ The Library Lending Room, Friday 11th October

Leeds band Fudge. have come a long way in a short time, marking themselves out as one of the city’s best new acts with their energetic and intimate live gigs, not to mention a brace of quality singles intelligently informed by modern and classic rock. This edition of the regular 360 Club event at The Library Pub is doubling up as a launch event for the quintet’s brand new single ‘Hugger Mugger’, and there’s support from Floodhounds and Ghostwriters. Tickets are only £7 – very much worth it! (TICKETS)
