Beyonce has cancelled her headline slot at Coachella 2017. She has pulled out of her performance because of her pregnancy, the festival has announced. She will however perform in 2018. Beyonce announced her pregnancy to the world just a few weeks ago, that she and her husband, Kanye Aest are expecting twins. The statement from Coachella read, “Following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months, Beyonce has made the decision to forgo performing at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival”.

Eminem is to headline the Reading and Leeds festival 2017. The line-up announcement saw 70 artists confirmed to play the festival. The rappers’ headline slot has lead to speculation about possible new material. Kasabian and Muse were also announced as the headline acts. Some other names include; Blossoms, Two Door Cinema Club, You Me At Aix, Giggs and Bastille.

The Brit Awards 2017 (February 22) saw Duncan Jones give a powerful speech following his late father, David Bowie winning Best British Album for Blackstar. Bowie also posthumously won Best British Male Solo Artist. The Brits which were held at London’s O2 Arena, also saw Beyonce take home the accolade of Best International Female. Whilst Drake beat off the likes of Bon Iver and Leonard Cohen to win Best International Male Solo Artist

More highlights from the Brit Awards include Little Mix winning Best British Single with ‘shout Out To My Ex. The awards were hosted by Dermot O’Leary after Michael Buble pulled out last minute. The 1975 won Best British Group ahead of Radiohead and Biffy Clyro. Live performances saw The Chainsmokers and Coldplay perform one of their just released singles together ahead of their upcoming collaborative album.

The Weeknd, Chance the rapper, Skepta and Wiley have all been announced for this year’s Wireless festival. The festival will take place between Friday and Sunday, 7-9 July 2017 at London’s Finsbury park. Nas will also make an exclusive UK festival appearance at Wireless.

At The Drive In announce their first new album in 17 years. The American punk rock band will release upcoming album In.Ter A.Li.A on May 5. This will be the bands fourth album and first since Relationship of Command was released in 2000.

Gorillaz’ album is reportedly ‘finished’ and live rehearsals are underway. David Albarn has made the announcement to his fans but yet to confirm an official release date. The band are currently rehearsing for a live tour to accompany the as yet untitled upcoming album.

Modern baseball have been forced to cancel their upcoming tour due to band members’ mental health concerns. They Philly rockers are taking a break from upcoming gigs to focus on ‘relationships’ and health issues. The band members were all in a time of “great anxiety” with the project that started out as a source of joy slowly took its tolls on the bands friendship.
