Alt-J confirm their third album will be titled ‘Relaxer’ and released on June 9, and share their new track ‘3WW’. On Sunday (March 5) the band announced the release date of Relaxer, their follow-up album to This Is All Yours, 2014. The announcement also came accompanied with the release of a new 55 second instrumental track, ‘3WW’. The song was released with the enigmatic binary code of ‘00110011 01110111 01110111’ which translates into 3W’s. Relaxer will feature 8 new songs and the band are set to tour worldwide for at least 32 confirmed gigs and festivals from June-September.
Gorrilaz announce their first show in 5 years. The band, who last played back in 2012, will perform at the Demon Dayz festival on June 10. They will headline the inaugural edition of their own festival, Demon Dayz, named after their second album. The festival will be at Dreamland amusement park in Margate, England. Admission to the festival includes access to all park rides. The festival will be streamed live online by RedBull TV.

Senseless Things release their first new material for 22 years. Cult 90s indie rock band release new track ‘Lost Honey’ and announce Shepherds Bush Empire gig on March 25. They will be playing their first gig since 1995. The band that formed in 1986 went on to release four albums together until they split. Band members, Cass Browne, Morgan Nicholls and Mark Keds all temporarily joined Gorillaz, Muse and The Libertines respectively. The reunion gig will likely be accompanied by a new album which will be their first since 1995’s Taking Care Of Business.

Future makes history with back to back chart toppers. He is the first artist to have two different albums number 1 in two consecutive weeks. Respective releases of FUTURE on Feb 17 and HNDRXX on Feb 24 saw the Atlanta Rap artists break the record as they both reached number 1 spot. HNDRXX overtook Future’s earlier released self-titled album on the charts one week later with 120,000 copies being sold.

Lorde will release her much anticipated second album Melodrama this summer. The long awaited album, which the singer-songwriters says is inspired by David Bowie, has been teased for a long time. Melodrama will feature the single ‘Green Light’ which the singer recently released through a radio 1 announcement last week. Lorde has also already been announced to appear at festivals this year including Coachella and Bonnaroo.

Roddy Woomble previews his fourth solo album due for release in September. The Idlewild frontman is again pursuing his solo efforts after coming off the road from a return with Idlewild for the band’s studio album Everything Ever Written, 2015. Roddy Woomble also unveiled a new single ‘Like Caruso’.
