Weezer release new single ‘Feels Like Summer’ and announce European tour. The alternative rock band have released the first song of their upcoming album expected this Summer. The forthcoming release will be Weezer’s 14th studio album after last years self titled album, a.k.a White Album, and 2014’s Everything Will Be Alright. The yet to be named album has been written by Rivers Cuomo. The band also accompanied the song release with Spring/Summer American tour dates and a European tour that starts in October.

Former R.E.M frontman Michael Stipe will debut new solo material at Moogfest 2017. The festival in Durham, North Carolina, on May 18, will showcase Stipe’s first solo material. The rare solo composition, including visual aids, will be his first return to music since R.E.M mutually called it quits six years ago. Michael Stipe was prompted back into music after the various David Bowie tributes he has contributed over the last year.

Feist announces her first album in six years, entitled Pleasure, which will be released on April 28. Pleasure will be Leslie Feist’s first album since 2011’s Metals. The 11-track album is produced in collaboration with Mocky and Renaud Letang and will be released through Interscope Records. Pleasure will be the Canadian singer-songwriter’s fifth studio album.

The Cranberries announce new album Something Else to be released on April 28th. The upcoming release will be an acoustic album of new and old songs. Something Else will feature tracks from their repertoire of music as well as three new songs. Amongst the revisited songs is a stripped down rendition of 1993 hit ‘Linger’.

Donald Trump’s plans to scrap the National Endowment for the Arts are to go ahead. The endowments have previously issued crucial funding and grants to musicians, artists, writers, and scholars for decades. The combined budget for the endowments that will be scrapped totalled just $300 million; a relatively minute fraction of annual spending.

TOOL announces 2017 North American tour dates that will kick off in May. The tour will begin on May 24 in Virginia and conclude on June 8 in Chicago. The prog-metal band promise “unparalleled sonic and visual experience” for their tour of gigs and festivals. TOOL haven’t released new music since 2006’s album, 10,000 Days.
